RESTORATION PALATUL NOBLESSE, BUCHAREST

The project created by Studio Insign and Noblesse Interiors is an incursion into countless periods and styles: from Baroque style, Louis XV and XVI, Rococo, on the ground floor of the building, to other styles at the upper floor (art deco, Victorian, Neoclassical, Contemporary) to the industrial-design style in the basement and semibasement of the building, which houses Noblesse Group and the Biblioteka Hub offices.

The house has been completely renovated by Studio Insign designers and architects with products from Noblesse Interiors portfolio.

The story begins in 1881 when the famous architect Alexandru Savulescu built this beautiful eclectic style residence. IIt was among the first buildings built in this style, representing a proof of its innate architectural talent.

Alexandru Săvulescu was a Romanian architect and one of the founders of Modern School of Architecture. He is also the one who created the National History Museum, Buzău Town Hall, Amzei Church and the building of the Ministry of Culture.

In 1903 the house became the property of Leonid Berkovitz, a famous banker who moves into this house with his family. He changes its appearance, giving it a French look, but preserving the eclectic style.

Between 1903 and 1938, the banker's residence becomes the place where the bourgeoisie takes part at various events, meetings, banquets and soirees.

During communism the building is transformed into the Cercul Pionierilor și Soimilor Patriei, a center for extracurricular activities for children, where music, painting and science courses are organized.

After 1989 the building on Sfinților Street is receded to the owners, but they decide to sell it. The beautiful house becomes the property of a bank and is abandoned until 2012, when it becomes the property of Noblesse Group. The building is brought back to life with great effort due to consolidation, renovation and interior design works.
